Security

Submitting transactions over the Internet can be as secure as providing credit card or check payments in person. To ensure the best possible customer experience, Wild Things is committed to meet and maintain the highest levels of Internet security.

Securely Transmitting Data

Your payment and personal information is always safe. We use the industry-standard encryption protocol known as Secure Socket Layer (SSL) to keep all of your personal and financial information secure so that it cannot be read over the internet. This information includes credit card number, name, and billing and shipping address information.

Safeguarding Information

To minimize the risk of loss and/or additional expenses that could occur from compromised cardholder information, Wild Things WILL NOT retain any of the following information electronically:

  • Credit Card number
  • Credit Card expiration date
  • PIN number
  • CVV number
  • CVV2 number

The protection of your personal information is important to Wild Things, and as a result, we do not accept payment via email.

Wild Things protects against unauthorized disclosures by limiting access only to those of our employees who need the information to do their jobs. In addition, Wild Things’ E-Commerce Security Policy requires compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

The principles in PCI DSS are defined by a council formed by the major card brands--Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and JCB--to help improve credit card security by creating and maintaining standards on how to properly handle credit card information. PCI DSS defines what merchants should do in order to reduce the risk of fraud and improve their customers' confidence in using credit cards for payment.

Preventing Fraudulent Activity

Wild Things utilizes an Advanced Fraud Detection Suite of tools that identify, manage and prevent suspicious and potentially fraudulent transactions. These tools evaluate transactions for indicators of fraud. They provide a powerful and highly effective defense against fraudulent transactions.

Please note however, should any unauthorized charges appear on your credit card as a result of shopping on our website, you must notify your credit card provider in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures.

Security Tips

Protecting Yourself – simple guidelines

  • Never share your user ID or password.
  • Create secure passwords. The more secure your password is, the harder it becomes for somebody to guess. While it's not required, we suggest that you choose a password that is at least 7 characters, and include a mix of letters, numbers, and special symbols.
  • Avoid using easily identifiable or personal information as your password - like a dictionary word, family or pet's name, or E-mail address
  • Be cautious about using a public computer, as they may contain keylogger software designed to steal your passphrase. If you do decide to use a public computer to shop on the Wild Things websites, don't forget to Sign Out from the website right before you leave.

E-Mail Security

  • E-mails are generally insecure and easy to forge. Be aware that an email, which comes from a friend or a business partner, could be fraudulent and designed to trick you into providing personal information or installing dangerous software.
  • Install antivirus and firewall software on your computer to protect yourself from phishing scams and viruses.
  • We will never initiate the request for your Wild Things password, or any other sensitive account information (like your credit card or social security number).
  • If you contact Wild Things Customer Support, we may verify your identity by asking for non-critical information, such as your Wild Things user name, shipping address, or past order information.
  • If you've received a suspicious E-mail that appears to have come from Wild Things or have concerns about an E-mail request from Wild Things, please contact us using one of the methods noted below under ‘Contact Information.’

On the Phone

  • Customer service employees may validate a caller by asking information such as current shipping address, order information, last four digits or expiration date of a credit card on file.
  • Under no circumstance will any Wild Things employee, including customer service, ask for your full credit card number or account password.

Feel free to contact us for any reason, including a request to be added to or taken off a list, or if you have any questions or concerns. Please note: When you contact us, please provide your name and address exactly as it appears on correspondence you have received from us.
