To defend a nation or to scale a mountain you must have a cause. So what's ours? To make a product as brave as the people who wear it.
In the early 2000s, Wild Things' reputation for uncommon, lightweight, tough mountain gear caught the attention of U.S. Special Forces. For the first time, elite units could come to New Hampshire and work with our designers to build bespoke kits tailored to their requirements. Our Mission collection includes highly engineered technical garments and carry, stripped to the bare essentials, tailored for the rigorous performance requirements of those individuals involved in military operations, law enforcement, and security details. Our products are currently in the field with every branch of the U.S. Armed Forces.
Founded in 1981, under the shadow of Mt. Washington in New Hampshire, Wild Things began by making gear for the challenging east coast alpine conditions. Wild Things sewn slings, chalk bags, climbing packs, bivy sacks, and high altitude technical clothing were part of nearly every big climb from 1983 to 1990. Today our Mountain collection of clothing and carry serves the needs of those who are bold in their approach to the outdoor experience—climbers, bikers, campers, hikers, and just about anyone living, working, or playing aggressively in the outdoors. Decades of alpine experiences—elation, misery, epic achievement, and near misses go into everything we make.
