High Loft USMC Happy Pant
The High Loft jacket and pants over garments and booties are designed for Bivouac (bivy sack), rest and sedentary activities in mountain conditions. These pieces are light weight and easily packed to a minimum volume to be carried among the variety of other mission essential gear.
Designed to provide maximum comfort in extreme cold weather, the High Loft Pants is a superior outer layer. The pants are cut large to fit over several layers of clothing and body armor. The shell material is a carefully selected, tested microfiber that is impregnated with a thin layer of silicone. This material is lightweight, windproof, highly water resistant, and breathable. The added silicone also enhances abrasion resistance.
The pants feature a full side zip, allowing maximum ventilation and ease in taking pants on or off over boots. The waist is fully adjustable with a hook and loop system, and suspender loops are included. We added 330 denier Cordura® reinforcement panels in the seat and knees. The ankle closures are elasticized with hook & loop fasteners.
Fully insulated, wind/water resistant layers for extreme cold conditions provide ultimate warmth across a broad operating range thanks to Low Loft and High Loft options. Both feature PrimaLoft® Silver Active synthetic insulation to provide warmth even when wet. Shells are made of 100% windproof ripstop nylon with DWR/NIR designed for insulation protection, abrasion and water resistance.
